We keep the Ascension of Our Lord on Thursday 26 May. Our celebrations of this great Solemnity begin with Solemn First Vespers at 6pm on Wednesday 25 May.
If you have never attended Solemn Vespers at the Cathedral before, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours – prayed all over the world every day by many laity, priests, and religious. Our Lay Clerks will sing the Psalms and pieces written especially for these offices, and there will also be a time of Adoration ending with Benediction. All are welcome.
