St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Changes to Youth Arrangements (update)

From April 2024 our Youth Group arrangements will change as follows:

Our current Cathedral youth group (for ages 10-16) returns this Sunday at 4pm. Please register your child here.

Changes to our Youth Group (below) will now take place at the later date of Friday 12 April:

Junior Youth Group (Ages 8-12) will meet each Sunday afternoon from 4pm to 5.30pm during term time. Register here.

Senior Youth Group (Ages 13-17) will start on alternate Friday evenings during term time from 7pm to 8.30pm, starting Friday 12 April. Please register here.
